Soul of Environmentalism Environmentalism,
the study of the environment with the purpose of protecting it from damage
caused by human activities, and the problem of nature protection are becoming
really important for an increasing number of people in the United States
and abroad. The misuse or abuse of natural resources, both the renewable
resources like clean air and water, and non-renewable resources, the speed
with which we are using oil and gas have reached staggering levels. Fortunately,
in the last ten years there has been an astonishing array of articles
and books that vividly described the appalling state of the planet. Also
there sprang up various organizations and societies that deal with the
problem of pollution and nature protection. An interesting project of
Redefining Progress, deserving a special attention, the Soul
of Environmentalism looks into the nature of environmental movements
today. Nine economic, environmental, and social policy leaders participating
in this project research and develop innovative policies that are supposed
to balance economic well-being, nature protection, and social justice.
Providing a fresh look on the soul of environmental preservation, the
Soul of Environmentalism is dedicated to smart economics and is looking
for solutions that ensure a clean and equitable world for future generations.
